Plumbing for a planned suburb
Golden Grove was developed as a master-planned suburb from the mid-1980s, with land sales continuing into the early 2000s. That puts most homes somewhere between about 20 and 40 years old, which is the age when original fittings start to wear out.
The jobs that come up most at that age are predictable:
- Hot water systems that have been replaced once already, or are on their second or third repair
- Tapware and toilet cisterns with worn washers, cartridges and valves
- Bathroom and kitchen renovations as families update the original fit-out
- Drains affected by established street and garden trees
Renovating?
A lot of our Golden Grove work is renovation plumbing. Moving a vanity, converting a bath to a walk-in shower or relocating a toilet all involve drainage changes, so it’s worth getting a plumber’s view early in the planning. We’ll explain what’s practical with your existing layout and what it costs before work starts. See bathroom, kitchen and laundry plumbing.
Larger households and hot water
Bigger family homes can stretch a hot water system. If the hot water is running out before everyone has showered, it may be a failing element or thermostat, or the system may simply be too small for the household now. Gas continuous flow or a larger storage system can solve it, and we’ll talk through the options.
